Kimberling City Casino

It'll never happen, but the city and county meetings would be epic meltdowns. LOZ is the perfect place. I hope.

There was a Constitutional Amendment passed several years ago prohibiting any more Casino's in the state of Missouri.

The Osage tribe claims to have on option on 40 lake front acres near Kimberling City for a casino and are also looking at LOZ.

the glass house was the location for the casino when placer was still alive. they almost slipped that in..
lol. i new several people involved in that back in the mid 90's. couple of realtors ect. the plan was to donate land to the indians out of wisconsin and make it a reservation. there are no indian reservations in missouri. since at one time the white river was considered a navigalbe river they could get a reiver boat on the lake. i have heard the original branson Belle was to be a casino . kenny rogers was involved in that little deal. who knows for sure now. i know the krap hit the fan when it slipped out.. dd residents went nuts as did kimberling city.. good entertainment for sure

All available Casino licenses in the State are filled plus what Dan said. Maybe the Native American tribes are exempt and "special" ?

Hopefully, this will not happen and further ruin the Lake area.

Thanks for the Link Mack.

After reading it there seems to be one thing for sure....The Osage, like so many other special interest groups, now "own" Greitens.

So whatever they propose will surely be quickly approved.

Casinos are not good for a local economy. They create more poverty and only make money for the owners. I would certainly oppose any effort to build one here.

The work at 76 and 13 continues. Indian Artie's World of Slots? Casinos attract a lot of people who have no business gambling. I'm not a fan, but lots of neighbors head to Oklahoma frequently.

I don't think there is any chance at all for an area casino. Region has had at least 3 attempts and all went down in flames. Plasters DD Indian attempt got some political traction due to a greedy Missouri Speaker of the House sneaking it into legislation that actually got approved. Then went down in flames when locals plus their elected reps discovered the bill was tacked onto something unrelated that they voted for.
Then there was the Rockaway Beach proposal backed by the little city and some very big corporate money that went to the Missouri voters statewide, but lost.
Missouri Ozarks is not viewed as friendly territory for casinos, so no one is going to gamble their real money on making another run at it. I visit casinos occasionally, have a good time and lose a little bit of money. For me it's just a form of intertainment. I view casinos as wealth distribution in reverse.....taking money from the poor and giving it to the rich.
LOZ is the perfect place but like others have stated Missouri is maxed out.
